PARR family of County Cavan
« on: Thursday 30 December 04 09:29 UTC (UK) »

Andrew PARR took his eldest, Thomas and youngest, John to Canada.  His second son, Joseph [with wife Margaret Bloomer and children] joined their father in Illinois some years later, as did third son, Andrew and his family.

Father and sons arrived Canada and probably left Cavan circa 1815.
The other two sons and families left and arrived in Illinois circa 1830.

I would be interested in any info anyone might have of the various PARR families in County Cavan.  I note there were a number of Bloomers also on the 1796 flax growers lists.

Though I know none of the relations in Cavan, I do know that one branch here in the States used the name Young a few times.

Anything would be appreciated.

Hopeful & curious,
Doug

And I've found that son Andrew had married his bride, maiden name Annis Parr, here in County Cavan also.

There are two names which run in the early American branch of this PARR family, Young and Alva.

As I've said.  Any information on any of the early 1800 PARR or BLOOMER families in County Cavan would be appreciated.

Our daughter found your question on the internet and will reply to it.

I have a great amount of info about the Parr’s in Co Cavan and have visited the RCB library quite a few times, looking up their microfilms of church registers.

I’d be glad to mail you a copy of the Parr family tree which shows Young Parr son of Joseph Parr (1780?-1845) and Anne Smith.  Young (1815-1899) married to Mary Burns (1824-1900) and they had 8 children, one of whom was Margaret (probably should be Margret) and Joseph Henry.  I do not know if they had any children.

Sincerely,  John E
