It's been six weeks now since the rootschat.com went inexplicably and without warning went offline. We were told that this was for maintenance, and that it would be back online in a few days. Then we were told that Trystan had to buy or lease a new server. So why is the new server not online? Is this going to be a long term problem? Is there any chance of the server being online before Christmas 2007?
I've given up expecting it ever to return.
Now, now, people - don't forget that Trystan and Sarah run Rootschat and the free webspace in their 'spare' time, and that it costs you nothing to use! It's the leadup to Christmas now and everyone is extra busy, including (I'm certain) Trystan and Sarah, so we just have to be patient...
At least the forums are still running! Goodness knows how we'd all cope with the withdrawal symptoms if Rootschat went down
That said, please could we have an update, Trystan? Thank you (for everything )

Paper and Photograph Conservator I live in NSW, and am researching: BALFOUR (Derry) – BIGG (Kent) – BONSALL (DBY, NTT, CHS) – BRISBANE (Fife) – DANKS (STS) – DOBSON (BRK) – FRANCIS (ESS) – GOODE (HAM) – HAYNES (Cork) – INGRAM (MDX, SOM) – LANGWORTHY (Jersey, DEV) – MCKAY (Fife, Aberdeen, Banff, Moray, Inverness) – MORRISH (LND) – NANCARROW (CON) – OGILVIE (Moray, LND) – STRATHDEE (Banff) – SWAN (Fife) – WOOD (LND)
The free webspace server is still offline. A developer that we selected is very busy on other projects at the moment, and although we had hoped that he could have worked on this for us, unfortunately time has not been on our side.
We will get this back up and running, on the new bigger faster free webspace server. We're hoping that there will be an extra couple of features on it that will make it well worth your wait.
I'm painfully aware that this has taken ages, and I can only apologise.
