Charles RAINE - Sandsend
« on: Tuesday 13 November 07 16:02 GMT (UK) »

Hi All,
Does anybody know what happened to Charles Raine after 1901?
He was born in Lythe in 1844 to William Raine and Hannah Thompson. The third of nine children.
He married Mary J Wilson in 1865 and went on to have nine children with her:
Hannah 1866 - 1875
Ellen 1870-1881
Amelia 1871-1897
Mary Jane 1873-
Thomas William 1876-
Charles 1878-
Edward 1880-
Richard 1884-1900
Henry 1887-1907

His wife, Mary Jane died in 1906, but so far I havent been able to track down what happened to Charles.  I think he may of stayed in Sandsend.  he worked mainly as a labourer.
Does anybody recognise the family or could track Charles down?

Thanks
Sue

Hi Oly
I don't think its him - purely because non of my Raine's came from Teesdale.  Charles was born in Sandsend and lived all his life there, he was still there on the 1901 census, so I can't see the reason for him moving,

Thanks anyway!

 Hello sue

I think it would be worth a £7 pound certificate or a request for Parish Registers, only a few miles away.
