Just thought you would like to know the outcome of my check on the name Fenturian/Fentiman. In the marriage PRs the vicar had written what looked like Fenturian and that is what I originally took but when I looked at Agnes's signature she had written, beautifully, Agnes Fentiman Torn. Good old Agnes!! I have amended my files but it still doesn't help with where the name comes from though - another mystery never to be solved.

Thanks Juliew for that link. It mentions Swillington and that is on the outskirts of Leeds and Agnes's father, John Thomas Torn, was born in Leeds. It is more than likely that the name came from his side.
