Were drapers in New Street in Birmingham in the 19th C. In the 1891 Census there is a Henry Turner aged 27 (born in Birmingham) a partner in the firm living above the shop (with about 20 others). in the 1841 Census( HO107/ 1146 Folio: 44; P a Francis Turner born abt 1811 is living there with her son Henry aged 3 (who turns up in 1861 as a draper's assistant)and daughter Martha aged 3 months. Can anyone find her (or indeed any husband) in 1851 or 1861 to find out her place of birth. I'm not quite sure what the premises was used at at that time.

Henry is most likly the Henry Stuttle Turner baptised 23/4/1839 at St Martins Birmingham s/o George & Frances
they also had Mathanah baptised 24/11/1840 Birmingham St Phillips I think she may have died I can't see her on the census (yet)
George married Frances Stuttle 26/5/1838 in Birmingham so he must have been married previously to have a daughter aged 20 in 1851
Do you have acess to the census? or would you like me to try and find them in other years for you?

Thank you so much for that. Yes I've got access to the censuses. It was largely a piece of lateral thinking which unfortunately has lead to another dead end!
