My fathers' mother was a Walker - Mabel, she was born at Greenoak Nr. Eastrington, East Yorkshire and married George Hall of Holme On Spalding Moor, Nr Eastrington. Now I know that Mabel lived at Greenoak, then Home Farm, Belby, Nr Eastrington, then Shiptonthorpe, then upon her marriage moved back to Home Farm, Belby with her husband.
My father has the farm now and I was brought up there most of my life. When Mabel moved to Shiptonthorpe her father Charles George Walker put a manager Herbert Danby into the farm at Belby until Mabel married aged 17 in 1932. Mabel's mother was a Laverack of Cliff / Market Weighton area, E. Yorks. Mabel had siblings George Charles, Maggie and Ann. Maggie married Redfus Rowntree of Holme on Spalding Moor a Beekeeper. Ann married John Ellwood of Asselby a Joiner and Beekeeper. Mabel's father Charles George Walker had another farm at Shiptonthorpe Grange, now I know that he had connections with Walker family at Shiptonthorpe and at Hive, Nr. Eastrington. Charles George Walker is buried at Eastrington along with Mabel, I believe he had siblings Sylvester, Robin and Ann.
I am sure somewhere along the line our Walker family is joined, as yet I have not done any research on the Walker line, can you join this family with yours?HuhHuh
