Minnie WEBSTER Dronfield?
« on: Saturday 17 November 07 11:13 GMT (UK) »

Hi, and once again I'm hoping for some help.

My G Grandmother was born Minnie WEBSTER and married Frank MOSLEY somewhere around the beginning of the 20th C. I have absolutely no more information about her except that I believe she died around 1959 (there is also a possibilty that she was still alive later, though in some form of mental institution)

Is anybody ressearching this family, or able to tell me more about her, and her roots? She is the only one of my G Grandparents I have been unable to track down, indeed I knew the others. I feel a real need to get to know more about this anonymous lady.

Many thanks for any help.

Hi Martin,

Free BMD has the marriage: 1906 Chesterfield Vol 7v pg 1558 Frank Mosley and Minniw Webester so that would be a start to confirm her father's name.

1901 census has a few Minnie Websters for Derbyshire but only 1 for Dronfield. (There is another one for Chesterfield but her birth year is given as 1889 which would make her young to be married in 1906 but not impossible.)

1901 RG13; Piece: 3261; Folio: 37; Page: 27

38 Scarsdale Road Dronfield

William Webster 37 yrs spindle and flyer hand b Derbys Dronfield
Mary J 35 yrs b Derbys Barton
George W T 10 months
Minnie 15 yrs
Mary J 13 yrs
Annie 11 yrs
Edith 8 yrs
Beatrice A 6 yrs
Frances M 3 yrs

all children born in Dronfield

do any of these names mean anything? I hope so.

best wishes

Hi,

Looks like Rootschatters may do it again!

This looks very much like the family, the ages seem to fit, and the marriage date is good, so maybe there is something to go on after all.

Hi Martin,

I'm new to this site, I live in New Zealand and I've been researching my family history for a few years now, off and on!

Minnie was the elder sister of my grandmother Annie Webster, who married William Bradley from Coal Aston in 1912.

I have recently been scanning a meagre few photographs of William and Mary Jane Webster, taken in the late 1930's. You are welcome to copies if you so desire.

Hi Xenoid,

You are a star!!!!

Minnie and her family have been a mystery to me for the last 6 years and I have to admit I had put her on the 'back burner'. I am interested in anything you can tell me, and am more than willing to share the little that I have.

I'll send you a personal message with my email, but you might like to look at my web site at www.mosleyfamilies.net I would encourage you to have a good look around, because you may find you are linked to other families in there!

I look forward to hearing from you.
