Hi Debbie

No marriages fitting that description in Hunts I'm afraid. The nearest is William Ashby who married Elizabeth Riddle in Stilton in 1780. There's a William & Sarah marrying in Northants in 1786 on the IGI but that's very speculative - it was at Wilbarston which is up near the Leics border, so doesn't look very promising.

There's a Sarah Ashby (transcribed Ashley) 70 in Huntingdon St Mary, born in county  in 1841 and a burial of Sarah Ashby in Huntingdon on 21 Feb 1849 age 84 which might be your Sarah

regards

Hi David - Thank you for looking at that for me (fair exchange  Cheesy)

Yes I think the Sarah you found in 1841 is mine - shame that there is non of the rest of her family with her.  William who died in 1821 was a carter so the couple could well have come from elsewhere originally I suppose,  I can't find mention of the name in Huntingdon beofre they arrived.

Hi Jan

It covers all Hunts marriages up to 1837. I'd already checked when I was looking at your Beds thread but there's nothing I'm afraid.

That's two blanks on one thread. I must try harder!

Regards

David

Dear David
When you have time would you please look a Huntingdonshire marriage up for me.  I am researching the Watts family from Hemingford Abbots/Hemingford Grey area. I have hit a brick wall with Joseph Watts born 1802 at Huntingdon, who married Mary Lantaff from Hemingford Abbots born 22/4/184.  I have no marriage date but I think it was 1824/1825 as their first born was born in 1825. The marriage was probably at Hemingford Abbots. I am looking to find the parents of Joseph Watts and his occupation.
Many thanks

They married in 1823 in Hemingford Abbot; Joseph was of the parish of Hemingford Gray. The index gives no further information, but the parish register is unlikely to give a father's name - just the names of the witnesses

Hi I am looking for information on Leeden's and Leeding's.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  I am actually looking for information on Leeden's or Leeding's in the following places:

Huntingdon
Bluntisham
Somersham
Pidley
Old Hurst
Woodhurst
Wyton
Colne
Warsboy

I have been able to trace our tree back to the 1700's in this area.  I have number of people in our tree that I know were married, as well as where and roughly when but do not know the spouces.

Again any assistance would be greatley appreciated.

Hi Austen,
I've looked through the parish registers of Bluntisham, St Mary's and only found two references to Leedens.

John Stacey bac married Elizabeth Leeden sp botp. 28 Feb 1832.
Wits. William Benington, Bathsheba Lavender.

Elizabeth Leeden adult  dau of John and Elizabeth of Houghton, lab, now the wife of John Stacey, yeoman was baptised 1 July 1838.

Can't help with other parishes I'm afraid. If you want the children of John and Elizabeth, let me know Grin

Tempsford.

I would like to add a request to this thread please.

I need a marriage in Hunts between 1794 and 1814 of an Alice (surname unknown) to a man with the surname Stevens, possibly but not certainly, John.  He was an ag. lab who became a soldier.

Hopefully around the Ramsey area.

Thanks,

Selina

I´ve popped over the border to Spain for a few days camping with my son. Back home Thursday, when normal Marriage Index service will be resumed.

Campsite has internet access, but I forgot to bring my microfiche with me!

Hi David,

Hope you are having a good trip!

I will be grateful if you will look for me when you get home and have time.

It would be extremely good to find that partiular marriage as it would open a new direct family line to me via Alice who gave birth to my illegimate ancestor (by another man) prior to her marriage with the Stevens chap.
