I just can't see them anywhere at the moment - found a family called Bell which I thought might be wrong but it is definitely Bell

Hi Gadget and Ricky, Thanks for all the effort. I've been looking for this family for ages without success and I should have said that I'd found Nancy in the Infirmary. I was about ready to give up and posted for a look-up as a last resort. Many thanks, Pat.

This is very strange, Ricky. I see that son John, aged 11 in 1881, and son James, aged 8 in 1881, are both born Stockport. They don't appear to have moved very much at all. There are no pages missing for Stockport on the 1871

I didn't intend to cause so much hard work. I thought I was being a bit dense not being able to find them myself and that fresh eyes might see something I'd missed. Regards to you both, Pat.

Ricky, That sounds a bit ominous. Surely they didn't leave town when they had a six year old daughter in the Infirmary. I wonder if they were in debt and had to hide for a while. I now have visions of them loading all there possesions on a hand cart and doing a moonlight flit.
Regards, Pat.
