I took the date from your post. The confusion between marriages and banns tended to happen before 1754 when the printed marriage register was brought into use and a seperate banns register instigated. Prior to that they were often written in the same book and occasionally intermingled.
However in 1812 the requirement for a banns register was dropped although most parishes continued to use a banns book. What you will however find is that the details from some banns books were included in the IGI and some other transcriptions leading to later confusion and the double dates.
