Hello searchingfor,  Years ago before i had the Internet i did a lot of researching for my own Jacque family and picked up all the Jacques i found and the Registrar you mentioned was Andrew Jacques, not mine though but from a family from Earsdon.    Gladys Smiley

Here's a further sighting of a JACQUES

Maria JACQUES, born about 1852 Eldon Lane, Durham, England

Her parents appear to be Richard JACQUES (b 1815 Black Bourton, Yorkshire) Mary BIRBECK (b1818 Brough, Westmorland)

She married 1. William BOLTON in 1871 (Bishop Auckland district)
and later 2. ABRAHAM GITTINS in 1897 (Bishop Auckland district)

Hello Liz, How are you getting on with your Jacques family,  some of these familys are hard to find are`nt they.
I am still doing lots of researching on all sides of me family. Its great.

It's an unusual surname.
A friend of mine has a Jaques ancestor in Yorkshire.
