« on: Tuesday 20 November 07 11:10 UTC (UK) »

a friend who had sub to Ancestry found this for me
but they are not renewing
wondered if someone else could help me
I have found a Solomon Given who enlisted in 1875 aged 18
the birthplace is noted as Fermanagh is it possible to find any other info on him
I am not sure if he is mine but maybe another branch of my family
any help would be appreciated
I already have post on Solomon Given but dont know how to link them

Thanks Leprechaun
I have been trying to find out as much as possible
about him before I decided to buy the record
I dont think he is directly mine
maybe the son of one of my ancestors brothers
and thought it might give me a place name for them

Hi there
hoping someone can help I am searching for my gg grandfather.
James George Rogers
based in Wexford when his son George Rogers was born on 8th feb 1836.
His place of birth is not known nor marriage date to Margaret Kerr..poss 1830-1833

wife Margeret Kerr born 1808 poss wexford.
According to family "history" he was in the Royal Irish Constabulary......and was killed in the riots in Dublin abt 1840...( shot by rioters)

There was no further details to support this and I searched ancestry's records and did not find his name..
His decendants still retained his sword till after the death of his wife in 1878.
Margaret kerr remarried abt 1844 in Dublin

They migrated to Australia in 1848

hoping you can help clear up this family mystery
