I can't send to hotmail addresses

Help please,
My e-mails disappear when I send to hotmail addresses - no error report no failed report, nothing.  I can receive mail from hotmail so there must be people out there who think I am ignoring them!  What's gone wrong?

Hi Fisherman

It could possibly be to do with the spam and junk mail filtering settings on the recipient end.... if they do not mark you down as a "friend" and say to accept mails from your address then your message may just be put in their junk mail folder automatically.   
I think it may do it even if they have already sent you a mail (you would think the computer would know that you are supposed to be friendly but sometimes not) 

So you have to work out how to get a message to them to say that you are sending a message!

Are you using just one e-mail address to send to hotmail? If so, you could try getting a hotmail or google e-mail address and send from that  Smiley

I sent someone an email to a hotmail address Monday evening and the same thing happened to me, no failed delivery report but they didn't receive it.

I resent it yesterday from a google mail account and it arrived instantly, the first one was from a Yahoo account.

In addition to Hotmail spam and junk mail filters, another obstacle to overcome may be individual Blocked Sender Filters.  This is where an individual recipient can choose to block incoming email from selective email addresses.  My neighbour accidentally added me in their Blocked Mail list.  They even managed to add themselves to their own blocked mail list. Huh

Hi Sparrett

No, I 've only encountered this in the last couple of weeks.  My neighbour uses Tiscali webmail and it has this particular feature.  If you normally download your email from your ISP's mail server using an email client like Outlook or Outlook Express then you could get hold of a program called MailWasher that has a blacklist facility.  You pass your emails through Mailwasher before you open Outlook and filter out either people in your blacklist or spam or junk mail.
