Hi.
If any one has access to the Parish Registers for CHUDLEIGH i would be really grateful for details on a baptism of-- MARY ANN TUCKER, poss 26 Nov 1798, and the marriage of her poss parents-
Thomas Tucker and Mary Pain-

i have ancestors in chudleigh, i went through the devon record office and paid online for their researchers to do some work for me.
they have access to all and everything at their fingertips.
i paid £40 in the end, but they followed the line back and found some very valuable information that i would never have got round to doing living so far away.
I would say it is worth doing this....... in retrospect i would have paid alot more for the info they gave.
only drawback is it takes them a while to get round to you.

Thank-you for that , I will have a think- I have always been reluctant to get proffesional researchers involved as I am
never sure i have enough information to get them going to start with!-still, I'm interested that you found it good value.

you only need to give them a name and the parish of Chudleigh and a date range.
if you go to "the national archives" via a google search or similar and in inverted commas type in on the general search Chudleigh and also seperately in inverted commas the surname you are loking for ie. pain or the other one which skips my mind it will bring up a few references to people with that surname living in Chudleigh. i tried it with your surnames of interest and there are hits for both........ double click on the entry and a bit more info will be given plus where the document is.
