I am looking for information on Edward Marsh/Maish born 1803 in Wolland, Dorset. His father was William Maish and mother was Dorothy nee Gould. They married 16th Feb 1801 in Wolland, Dorset. On the marriage of his son John to Mary Bullen BARTLETT , 20/5/1852 at Mappowder, his occupation is given as PUBLICIAN. Where could I find out which pub he run?
I am unable to find Edward or his son on the 1841 census for Dorset, although William and Dorothy are at Mappowder. On the 1851 census John is living with his Grandparents at Mappowder, no trace of Edward.
On the 1871 census John and Mry plus their son William are at Stanstead, Middx, occupation Groom.
I know that Edward Marsh was one of those charged with Machune breaking in the 1830's troubles.
Any information about the above family gratefully received.
