Hi Otis,

Welcome to Rootschat!

Perhaps if you contact the OPC Coordinator and the FFHS regarding the discrepancy in the years they can double check for you.

The original registers are probably held at the Dorset History Centre in Dorchester; I'm not sure if these are available for public viewing or if they have microfilms/fiches.

Hi Mark,
I have just come back to London after a session in the Dorset Record Office. They have shelves bursting with the transcriptions of parish records and a large quantity on microfilm. You would be very unlucky not to find what you are looking for as the staff there are so helpful. It is easy to get a readers ticket if you have a good means of identification such as a passport. Beware however for they are not open on a Monday. Good luck. Toby.

I was in London today and had a look at a transcription of the Toller Fratrum marriages register. The first entry is:-

26 July 1616. William Biles & Mary Bartlet.

Unfortunately the second entry is in 1661 so one cannot be sure about 1611 without looking at the original document or a photographic copy. A few marriages in between would have been very useful. I have from experience seen mistakes made between 1 & 4. The original is in the Dorset Record Office so the matter would have to wait although I know that many record offices will do small works of research for a fee. Sorry I cannot help you more.
