I don't live in Lt. Shelford but not far off.
Trying to recall how old the building looks! LOL, have not really viewed it with that in mind previously and now that it has changed to a 'take away' one loses perspective.
However we feel it is fairly old but I will try and get in touch with previous landlords to see if they know any more about it. Although I knew them I did not go in there when it was a pub so don't have a picture in my mind of the inside as it was then.
Will get back to you on this.

Great, Selina! I have a friend who lives in either Little or Great Shelford and I'll ask him for his opinion too. But if you do manage to talk to people who actually ran or worked in the place, that would be fantastic! keith

Selina, and everyone else who has helped on here, Have just gone onto the 17 pages or so on ancestry.com for Little Shelford in the 1901 Census and have walked the streets of 106 years ago; and there in the following sequence were the following: Households living in The Terrace, then Fern Cottage, then comes The Three Horseshoes, with Herbert and Elizabeth Astbury running the place; then a bicycle shop, then Cintra Lodge, then comes Church Street, followed straight away by the High Street. That should surely pinpoint where the pub building is/was, and I think I may well go on a visit this weekend to see whether I can identify any of these as landmarks, keith N.B. I see from a modern map that Winners Chinese takeaway is in Church Street, close by the Church...And now I've looked up Cintra Lodge, and it's address today is 14, Church St; number 15 Church St is Winners. Pretty much looks like I know where I'm looking for now, The Three Horseshoes/alias The Chequers/ alias Winners Chinese takeaway is at 15, Church St today. Going to go and have a look at the place tomorrow, just hope it's not a brand-new building!
