A prospective relative of mine gives his Birthplace as "Sandford" Shropshire.Whereabouts would this place be?

There are two Sandfords shown in Shropshire, both small enough to be called villages I think.

No 1)
approx 15miles along the road from Whitchurch to Newport with Market Drayton to the east

No 2)
Approx 5 miles along the road from Oswestry to Shrewsbury.
