Hi Linda
Was her father an army man or were they "local" people? Although it is possible for local persons to give their birthplace as Shorncliffe, there weren't too many houses in that area - Shorncliffe was/is an army base.

Hi,
It's probably me but I can't find any Ann/ie MOOR/E born abt 1863 Sandgate or Shorncliffe in the census
Please can you give us the refs for the censuses you have her on, it may help find her.
I have found these birth registrations,
Ann MOORE Sep Q 1862 Elham v.2a p.734
Female MOORE Sep Q 1862 Elham v.2a p.721
Elham as the Registration District for Sandgate.
Regards Daisy

Hi Daisy, thanks for the birth refs. - didn't know Shorncliffe came under Elham, thought it might have been Folkestone. Will send for certs. I can't find Annie at all on 1871, only on 1881 onwards when she was married, and living in London.

Hi Linda
Have you now sorted Annie's birth or are you still looking?
