Hi
I'm trying to track ALL the residents of Levisham, near Pickering, in all the censuses; yes, I know, it's a daft idea, but someone's got to do it!
Anyway ... I have SOME discs, but not all and so I'm relying on you folks to help me out on a few entries that I can't read.
STARTING WITH ...
1891: (RG12/3992 Folio 14 page 1 to Folio 16 page 5)
The Hall - Is the family name SKELTON or SHELTON?
House 5 - Where is Hannah Newton born? I can read Hawsker (which is near Whitby) but not the rest!
Horse Shoe Inn - Where was Ruth Smith born?
House 11 (MY family!!!) - What is the male servant's surname? Muchley? Mushley?
House 18 - Is the surname GREENHALL? And where is wife Martha born?
Sorry for all the questions, but as you might guess, my discs are pitifully poor images in some cases!
And ... I'll be back for more assistance on the other censuses when I get round to them!

Hi Barbara!
I too have the 1841 discs but they are ABYSMAL!!! I managed the first page but then gave up as it is SO FAINT towards the bottom. I have a friend who is going to email me the images (I hope!) so that I can do a bit myself before I go on bended knee to 'the community' again!
And thanks for all the help you posters have given me so far - I'll feed it all into my EXCEL file right away!
But ... is it SKELTON or SHELTON??!! Any way of getting a definitive answer? Does either name match in 1901? Definitely NOT there in 1881.

Hi Pels.
I'm just not sure.
I KNOW that at one point there is Reverend Skelton living in the Rectory with his family, but I don't know which census they are on, and there is already a Mr Berry resident in the Rectory in this 1891 census, so that rules that one out.

My cds were an upgrade so not too bad in parts now!
I still think it's Skelton, going by other k's on the page
Think the Hall was uninhabited 1901, will see if I can find the family elsewhere

House 13 - What's the occupation of Hugh Willoughby? Is it Chaplain South Myhop (?) Norwood Cemetery Clerk in Holy Orders
House 15 - is the family name WINSPEAR?
House 20 - What's the address? I can read Newton Dale ?? Houses!
House 21 - what's the address? and is the family name MARSER?
I think this is the last one ... for 1891 ...
