I have a George Groom born 1857 in my Family Tree. His parents were William Groom 1831, who was married three times.He was the son from the second marriage his mother being Mary ANN [ TIMMIS] Groom.. George Groom was born at Arleston, Wellington ,Shropshire. He also lived in Walker Street, Wellinton.
I believe he may have been a soldier IN THE BOAR WAR has was his nephew of the same name George Groom 1877. George Groom 1857 may have been in the Shropshire Light Infantry in the 1899_ 1902 conflicted with the Natal and South African Forces and was possibly killed. Can any one please tell if this is correct or give me any other information concerning George or the family?
