Hi JAP,

Thank you for letting me know these helpful links. I havent been at this very long, and I do appreciate all the information. This is such a great site, and people are so friendly, and helpful. I had no idea of  "FreeCen", either. The statuary death cert., looks like it says "fibroid haltosis". I wonder if I could download the image? I will give it a try, will take quite a few minutes.

MsDovie,

No reason I can think of why you shouldn't post a link to the image.

After I worked out what I thought it said, I did Google for fibroid phthisis to make sure that there was such a disease!

There were many hits and varying descriptions.  Here are a couple more:

I assumed it had something to do with the lungs, once agian, you are way ahead of me. Her husband David died from "Senile Decay", I didnt see that on the archaic medical terms list. I'm assuming that means he died because he was "old"?

Hello
I have been researching the FINDLAY family for over 15 years following on from my father's research.
Unnie Findlay was my gg grandmother's sister.
I have lots of info on all the Findlays if you are interested.
I also have Unnie Findlay's death cert and it says she died from 'fibroid pthisis'.  Since pthisis is tuberculosis, it must be some kind of this.
In one of your posts you say that her daughter Euphemia went to the USA.  Is this so? I would be very interested in details of this.
Four of Unnie's sisters and a brother came to Australia in the 1850s.
Last year I met some of Unnie's descendants in Glasgow and Dundee, Scotland.
Regards
Leonie
