Trying the elimination way!
« on: Friday 30 November 07 22:44 UTC (UK) »

Does anybody have John Dent Fothergill born Mallerstang 1793 in their tree please.  The only place I have found the baptism is on IGI, but I can't find a marriage or death.

I'm still trying to find the parents of my 'John Fothergill' born 1793 Mallerstang, so I'm trying to eliminate the others until I have the correct one.  There's three of them baptised around the same time and his two marriages were before 1837 and didn't give the fathers name.  They were also in Cumberland with witnesses belonging to the brides side.

He didn't mention the 'Dent' in his name at all but I'm drawn to him because his parents were James and Frances, the name of John's first two children.

I'd love somebody else to give an opinion  ......... please, please.
