Last year, I was lucky enough to find one in which there was my father taken on 2nd September, 1918 at Douverain Camp, BETHUNE, France...Michel's teritory, I think.
Hello Norah,
Indeed Béthune is just 10 km far away from my home.
I wondered if "Douverain" camp is not in fact "Douvrin", a small town also near La Bassée.

Michel, there should have ben something underneath the quote I will check to see if I have made a mistake in the spelling of Douverain. It seemed that there was a good chance we could get a similiar group photo which showed Robert and it was bitterly disappointing that one was not found. It seemed that by finding the gravestone of Robert that we may have been on a winning streak.
It was a pleasure to see you in person..so to speak
Best Regards
Norah

Good Evening Norah,
I have checked and there was a British military camp at "Douvrin" which is very close to the famous "Béthune to La Bassée Road", well-known in the First World War history on the western front .

Thank You ,Michel. It rather looks as if the Douverain that I was given was in fact the name you know. It may have been easy to interpredt the spelling wrongly.
My dad died in 1982 but I was really pleased to have the group photo last year especially as some of my nephews had suddenly shown an interest in his servcie in WW1 which was gratifying because we, of this age, who were born after 1918 would prefer that families do not forget the sacrifices they made by so many at that time.
With sincere Best Wishes
Norah

Friends
We have come this far so lets not the thread lose its Glory
I have written to Graham and Michel privatly
We have all Christmas in our minds but Robert is still in our hearts and those who are watching this thread but staying silent want to re unite the tag belonging to Robert to his family and if this is not possible then to place it in the hands of a museum that has WW1 soldiers memories on display.
Everyone who has been involved in this thread especially Annie and Michel and all of us lurkers who wish to bring Michels quest to the conclusion it deserves need to see it to its fruition
Edna
