Could any one please help me to sort out this problem or problems. In the 1861 census appears a Thomas Vince born c1823 at Morley, 1871 as Thomas Vince Morley St Boltoph
1881 as Thomas B Vince Morley 1891 as Thomas B Vince Morley St Boltoph, In 1901 as Thomas Vince Barker born Morley which is how his entry appears in 1909 when he died.
His wife was a Maria her death appears as Maria Barker Vince.
In 1851 Thomas and Maria appears as Barker ( his POB Besthorpe) as do their children, ie Ellen Barker aged 2 born Rockland St Peter In 1861 all the children have become Vince's! ie Ellen Vince 12 born Rockland St Peters in the birth indexes the children are all listed as Barker, first two just as Barker the other two have the middle name of Vince .
As regards the marriage I have found a Thomas Barker marrying a Maria Collins Jun Q 1848 Wayland Reg Dist which seems a good fit?
I have a suspicion that a Jacob Vince could come into the picture as the father which might explain things.
Previewing this entry is baffling me let alone someone with no connection reading it!!
