Any data on the Whyte name in the period 1600 to 1700.
Robert Whyte b.1638, son James Whyte b.1664
Wish to verify chart as attached.

the IGI has the marriage of robert whyte and elspeth gray 1658(m112982)
and children(c112982)
looks like there were 2 william whytes b. 1659 & b. 1669

as to verifying the chart it depends who made it and where they got the
connecting information

Help required.
How to make verifiable connections?
From James Whyte b.1686 Paisley;
to father, James Whyte b,1664 Kirkden, Forfar;
and to grand-father, Robert Whyte b.1638 Kirkden.

The Scotlandspeople OPR birth records do not help.
No mention of mother or other detail which might help.

Any suggestions please.
