could any one tell me how i go about looking for births after 1923, im not sure if there is any where on line or do i need to go to a records office

hi pal,

if you are in scotland you can visit the registar's office as there is no way you can view births after 1905 online.

No,

That's a common misconception.  Google for the Registrars office in your desired location and quite often they can do the research - for a fee.

 A great money saver - Aberdeen Registrars Office (as do many others in Scotland), - has Scottish BMD records online going back to 1855.  Charge £15 per hour.  An hour should be more than enough to get a good core of info.  I use them as I live locally and visit in person.  Can be contacted on 01224 522033 or e-mail:  Searchroom@aberdeencity.gov.uk  They're really friendly approachable and professional.
