Can anyone help me with the White family of Ashby St Mary please? My ancestor, Susannah White, was born there c.1795 & I have found a Samuel White, born c.1800 in Asbhy on the 1841-71 Census, presumably a brother.
There are a James & Rose White [both born c.1770] still living there in 1841/51 who may well be their parents. In 1851 James White says he is Clerk to Claxton Chapel, which may well mean the details will not be in the Parish Register of Ashby St Mary, but any information on this family would be very helpful.

Have you tried the FreeReg? There is a baptism of Samuel White 31st Aug 1800 and Susanna 25th Mar 1798 in St Edmund, Downham Market, Parents Samuel and Frances.

Thank you for the info. Beverley. I didn't realise Norfolk was so well covered on FreeREG.
I know that my ancestor Susannah White [born c.1795 Ashby] married in Worlingham, Suffolk, in 1815, therefore, I think that Downham Market is probably too far away from the area where she lived. However, you never know!
