I would appreciate your looking for Cray or Hay.  Both families were in Yester at some point but I dont know where quite a few of them are buried.
Thanks

Hi Buzzbyb
Their are 2 records in graveyard

1 Flat stone,         Burying place of John Hay late tenant **********,  Stone 5 to left of entrance gate
2 a wood panel inside the church presumably moved from the old church
1686 an earl's coronet  for John Hay and is wife Jean Scott

Also in the notes it mentions ' From the index to the Edinburgh Commissariot Register of Testaments 1514-1800
Rachel Peacock relict of Andrew Hay Mason in Gifford, 12 1781
Their are also several records of John Hay earl of Tweeddaill 1654, 1654,1656, 1684

hope this helps

Hi Spacot,

Thanks very much for those. Unfortunately, I don't think any of them are mine. They must be all in Dunbar graveyard! Sad

Smiley :)Wow Spacot! Sorry to have made you do so much work!!! But thankyou so much for all the information.
I will have to hunt through all my records to see where these people fit in, but I'm sure they will fit in somewhere.
I would love the OPR's if possible thanks.
If you have any ancestors in the Prestonkirk area, I have a record of the People of Prestonkirk 1851 if you would like me to do any look ups.
Oh and Welcome to Rootchat! Its a brilliant site.

ISBN 0 9535409 0 1
Page 125 a Photograph Oldhamstocks Smiddy 1890.  One of the people in the photograph David Skeldon groom to the minister, one of your Skeldons? Might be worth a look, certainly worth a read

:)Hi Spacot....Thanks for all the hard work.
My great great grandfather Adam gives his place of birth on the census as Oldhamstocks, so there is definitely a connection, I just have to find it!
Also thanks for telling me about the book. I will certainly look out for it.Sounds like a good read.

Again, very generous offer. Smiley I don't know what years you have, but I have a few Wallaces in Innerwick around 1790 - 1815, father Robert, mother Jane/Janet Golightly. I also have Gillans/Gillons there in from about 1828 - 1845. Could there be a possible marriage for a John Gillan/Gillon to Agnes Wallace in there as well?

Thank you once again.
