Benjamin WOODS and Sarah [unknown]
« on: Thursday 12 October 06 22:37 UTC (UK) »

Dear Chatters:

I have had some extraordinary help with my WOODS family from Rootschat.  The information I've received has been such an amazing help.

However, I am still in search of a marriage for Benjamin WOODS (b. 1760) who married Sarah (unknown) b. about 1767 (?).  The marriage would have taken place about  1788 as their first child was born in 1789.   My problem is, I have no idea where the marriage happened or Sarah's surname.

Benjamin was born and christened in Andover., Hants.

If anyone can help,  I would so appreciate it.

Regards
Joan

I've just had a quick look at www.familysearch.org and found :

Benjamin Wood and Sarah Jones 3 March 1789, St Gregory, Sudbury, Suffolk .

His surname is not quite correct and he is a long way from Andover but it is an entry from church records so it should be accurate.

hi my Jones was Major Charles Jones b. 1883. i think it was around Sudbury in Suffolk . I don't know his parents name but they owned quite a bit of property...IE. the Grove ..
his uncle owned Wood Hall. Is there anyway of you putting two and two together for me or direct me and i will be happy to investigate .
Major Charles Jones married a relative of Lord Braybrook who was the niece of the Provost of Eaton . i am sorry but i don't know her name . I am wondering if this Sarah Jones is a relative .
thanks fredickay

Hello Fredickay:

I'm sorry to say I have no information at all about the "Jones" family of which you inquire.  Actually, I have come across some new information on my search of Benjamin and Sarah [unknown].   I believe he actually married (or lived with) a Sarah Sturgess who born was 1764 and died 1826.  His daughter, Elizabeth, married a Sturgess as well.   I have acquired his Will and was able to extract a fair bit of information from that.
