My Grandmother Ethel Soley was in service at 1 Cornewall St, Hereford, when she got married in 1914. Is there any way of finding out who she was employed by ie who lived there?

From one of the local directories which will list the people who lived there.
There are Kelly's and Jakeman & Carver directories from that date.

In the 1913 Directory number 1 Cornewall Street is occupied by Francsi Henry Thompson MRCS LSA, Surgeon, and in the 1922 Directory he is still there and with Miss Minnie Thompson, Music Teacher.
On the 1901 Census, Francis is 51, his wife Helena is 46, and they have Sarah, 21, Edith,20, Sophie, 16, Gladys, 12, Francis 9, and Lilian 7 living at home.

That is such a great help. Thanks for taking the time to look up the information for me. it is so interesting to build up a picture of how our ancestors lived. Unfortunately my father has passed away so I am unable to ask him for information anymore.
