Marriage look up - Darbyshire

Hello,

Please could someone do a marriage look up for me.  I'm looking for a marriage between James Darbyshire and Ellen ??  c1810 -1820.  I've checked the records for St Martins Ashton Upon Mersey but nothing so I'm wondering if they may have married at a neighbouring church - Bowden St Mary?

The only marriage I can see (on either index!) is this:

James DARBYSHIRE m Ellen WILLIAMS 24 Dec 1832 at Cheadle

I've checked DARBISHIRE/DARBYSHIRE/DERBYSHIRE.

I'm beginning to wonder if they did marry despite having 8 children!!  This is a marriage which has completely flumoxed me, I suppose we all get them.

Could he have been married twice, with the second marriage to Ellen as posted?  Do you have the childrens baptisms?

Hi Jean,

I've got baptism records for 5 of their children, the eldest was born in 1813.  James was born in 1789 so I think its unlikely he was married before Ellen.
