I suggested to the author that he advertise his soon to be published book here - as I am already a member (and also because vision problems make it difficuilt for him to view/use the site himself), he has asked me to do so on his behalf:

GREATER LOVE by The Revd David T Youngson

A directory of Chaplains of the British Army, Australian, Canadian
East African. New Zealand and South African Forces and Ministers of Religion who gave their lives in the period 1914 – 1922

The Directory has a short Introduction on the role of the Army Chaplains’ Department during this period and contains biographical notes of 260 Clergy who lost their lives.

Included are details of Citations, causes of death, some photographs, Indexes of Denominations, location of Cemeteries, and Academic Institutions attended.

A valuable resource for all World War One historians and family researchers.

An Appendix lists Clergy who were appointed by The United Board to serve on the Home Front.

PS

For the eagle-eyed among you, you will notice the author shares one of my surname interests. He and I are each descended from two brothers who, as far as we can tell from our respective research, went their separate ways back in the 1860's. We met, for the first time, last year, although corresponded for about a year beforehand.
