Philip WOODHAM of Milton Ernest
« on: Monday 10 December 07 22:07 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

Looking for parents of Philip Woodham born 1818 Milton Ernest. He married Elizabeth Barker in M/E in 1843, on the marriage cert his father was also Philip. I'd like to know mother's name, when they got married & any other children.
Not much to ask I know, but I cannot get to Beds Archives until next month.

Thanks John

Looking at pre 1812 baptisms in Milton Ernest there are 5 children of Philip & Elizabeth Woodham between 1797 & 1811. Philip W married Elizabeth Brown on 3 Oct 1796. I wonder if they might have more children.

Every chance I would imagine! A 25 year child bearing span would fit your Philip in quite comfortably (assuming Elizabeth Woodham was around 20 when they married)

Morning David,  Elizabeth Brown was chr 10 Sept 1769 at M/E to James & Elizabeth Brown, so she'd be 26 on her marriage, Philip was younger chr 1775.

Good moaning

Which would make her 49 on the birth of Philip. A bit too old?

Are you sure you have the right Elizabeth Brown? There's another on 30 Mar 1777 which fits better all round

An Elizabeth Woodham was buried at ME on 12 Nov 1843 age 67. Philip aged 73 was buried on 22 Nov 1844

Morning boys,
Well it feels like I have had a 25 year chlid bearing span, Roll Eyes and I am sure I will be able to add to this later when I have had a look at my records but the NHS is calling me so I must be off. I appoint John as my proxy cousin in my absence, (or real cousin if we ever find the link)!! Wink

I had half and hour to spare after seeing legal counsel to I popped into the Archives on my way out of Bedford, and now have a 2nd reason to be happy.

Milton Ernest baptism
14 July 1817  Philip Woodham, son of Philip & Elizabeth Woodham, labourer

So Linda, cousin of sorts, according to your tree from GrU; Philip (senior) is brother to your John 1797, who was your gt-gt-gt grandfather, welcome to my mad world. I will post my link later. I've got to go do an afternoon shift at the coal face.

Philip Woodham & Elizabeth Barker married 14/05/1843 Milton Ernest, they had son Thomas Jesse born 25/04/1844  chr 14/07/1844; he married Hannah Woods 30/12/1870. Their daughter Clara 1877 married James Partridge chr 07/10/1877 at Bletsoe, on 23/11/1897 at M/E.

James Partridge was son of Edward Partridge & Martha Partridge who married 02/12/1872 (* OK so inter-breeding went on *). Edward was son of Charles Partridge 1806. Martha was daughter of John Partridge 1829 who was son of George Partridge 1799. Charles & George were brothers to my gt-gt-granddfather Richard P 1792 of Bletsoe.

So do you need a picture ?  Then look at my tree on GrU.

John.  Cool
