Hi

Under name and occupation of mother on my mums birth certificate it says....Ivy Bethume Holley, apprentice tailoress of 8a Park Crescent Brighton. I have tried searching for this address with help from others on another site to see if it was address of her work or her own address, (she had my mum the day before her 16th birthday)!!
I have been told that round about the date i'm looking for there was no 8a only no: 8 and that an Arthur William Smithyes lived there, 1932 / 1935, I am trying to find out if this man was a tailor and if he ran his business from his home.
Any help would be appreciated thankyou
