I have located a William Jowett in the 1841 Census, age 20, who was living in Basford, Belper, Burton on Trent, Derby & Shardlow.
Could someone check to see if there were any other family members living with him in Belper?

I still can't locate him -really frustrating!!!!!!
Do you have a census ref?
I have checked all the 20 yr old wWilliams in Derbys
What is confusing me is the places you quote are all different reg districts
Basford the place is in Notts Basford reg dist covers parts of Notts/parts of derbys (but not Belper)
Belper the place is in Derbys Belper reg dist covers part of Derbys
Shardlow reg dist covers Long Eaton -part of which is in Derbys/part in Notts
Burton on Trent is in Staffs
Where did you have your information from?
Or have you found 4 William Jowetts of the same age??

I did a free online search for William Jowett on the following website:
http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/census.asp?wci=landing&searchtype=12
I found a William Jowett in Belper that approximately matched the age. I was hoping that he was the same person who was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Jowett of Derby. However, it seems that William Jowett of Belper listed in the 1841 Census was the son of William and Mary Jowett.
I'm still trying to determine where William Jowett of Derby lived before married Ann Jones in 1842.
Thanks for your help!
