Someone I was helping with their family line last year once said

"All I need now is a lost video of my relatives back in 1850 explaining all they knew of the family, what they did in their daily lives, secrets we have been unable to unearth etc etc etc"

If only this were possible, do you think that in 150 years time our descendants will have it so lucky, or will things be worse for them as we live more in a Throw Away lifestyle now, saying that I must be a hoarder as I still have nearly all my childrens Birthday cards, certificates from school etc and the eldest is 24 now. Yes,we have hoardes of cards also.Must be a small rainforests worth. When you get to my age the combination of card hoarde & numbers of candles on the birthday cake are a distinct fire hazard for the household!

Yes but won't that be the nice thing about our age because we have more access to cameras/video/dvd/internet etc there is a chance our decendants will be able to know us better.

I have some photos from one side of my family from the 1920/30 but the other side obviously couldnt afford that type of 'new technology' I will never know what they looked like

Probably the one thing about this ' throw away age' is that we tend to hold on to the things that mean the most to us
