I am looking for the family of Joseph Alfred MILLER (son of Mary Ann SCRIVENER). Joseph was born 13 August 1874 in Brickhill Road Leighton Buzzard. I have a lot of information on Mary Ann SCRIVENER and her mother to pass on and would like to exchange details if possible.

What exactly are you looking for? Joseph's wife and children? Have you found him in censuses?

You seem to know a lot about him going in the opposite direction!

Joseph Alfred MILLER (born Joseph Alfred SCRIVENER) was the illegit son of my greatgrandmother. He was born 13 August 1874 in Brickhill Road Leighton Buzzard. I believe that he married a Lucy Elizabeth DYETT in Northampton in 1905 but have been unable to confirm this. I would like to trace any of his descendents as they are probably not aware of details of his mothers parents, nor the name of the father of his younger brother, William, which I have just found out and would like to share. They may also be able to help me with the reason why his mother (Mary Ann SCRIVENER) and her husband (Samuel HAMPSON) married under the surname of GRASBY and then changed it to KING.

FreeBMD has three births with a father's name Miller, and a mother maiden name Dyett

William, Sept 1912 in Leicester
Edward, Sept 1915 Aston, Birmingham
Frank, Dec 1921, Aston Birmingham

Unfortunately it'll cost £7 a time to see if the father is Joseph Alfred

Many thanks for the birth info. As my mother remembers a Frank MILLER it looks as if you are right. I will get his birth cert.

Forgot to mention that if you include a reference point, father has to be Joseph or Alfred, the GRO charge a reduced fee if it doesn't match
