A page is devoted to the village of West Newton, covering the origin of its name,
an outline of its history and geography and a list of family history surname interests.

The West Newton Watermill was in the estate of the Viscount of Andover, the Howard family, for many years. It was originally used as a fulling mill and later converted to a paper mill. When papermaking ceased in 1845, the machinery was converted to corn milling.
