I'd be very grateful if someone with access to the marriage Index could check for the following marriages:

- William HODGKINS/Hannah Emma HEDGES 1830-37
He was from Chipping Norton and they had a child at Charlbury in 1838 before moving to Hants

- Elizabeth --?-- born c1783 at Weston-on-the-Green and --?-- (possibly John) HEDGES 1800-1815 (parents of Hannah Emma above) - sorry information is skimpy!

mmm probably need a bit more info for the second marriage Undecided

but here are all the John Hedges & Elizabeth marriages twixt 1790 & 1819

3 Dec 1790 to Elizabeth WOOLLIAMS  at Idbury
12 Dec 1795 widower to Elizabeth PORTER at Ox St Peter E,
27 Dec 1802 to Elizabeth WOOD at Stoke Lyne
10 Dec 1804 to Elizabeth BENNET at Ox St Mary Mag
18 Aug 1810 Elizabeth JONES  at Ox St Peter E

Thanks very much Myfi and Sleat, my expectations have been greatly exceeded!

This Hannah has caused me all sorts of problems as she appears as Hannah in 1841 in Hants and Emma in all censuses thereafter. It took two birth certs of children born in 1841 and 1848 to convince me they were one and the same! And she was married as Hannah, but Emma on the birth of her first daughter! The baptism in 1839 is them, as William was subsequently a schoolmaster in Hants

Must do some more work to try to establish which of the various marriages was her parents
