Agnes McAllister/1901 cenus

Hi,
I have a problem in trying to find the family of William McAllister born 14/3/1911, because he was illigitimate. All i know is that his mother was Agnes McAllister and William was born at 32, King Street, Ayr. Do,s anybody think that Agnes may have been living there in the 1901 Cenus or perhaps i will have to wait till the 1911 Cenus comes out to find her.

Without further information any links are really only guesswork but this one is a possible

Hi Falkyrn,
Thanks for the information, I checked Williams birth cerificate and it said his mother was an out worker and on his marriage in 1935 it said his mother was Deceased. It sure makes it difficult to find her parents.

Hi Scully,

I think I have found Agnes McAllister's death. Like you said, she was an outworker. She died 26 Oct 1913 at Ayr County Hospital, but usually resided at 30 King Street, Ayr. She was 24 years and her mother was Sarah McAllister, an employee in the chemical works. Cause of death was extensive burns. Cry There is an RCE and it tells us she was injured through clothing catching fire when she was at home.

Given the info, Falkyrn's 1901 census entry is the correct one.

Thats great information, I thought i would have a real problem trying to find her death. Was there anything about a father for Agnes. Did it say if Sarah was still alive when Agnes Died.

No father listed for Agnes, and Sarah was still living at the time of the death. She also stayed at 30 King Street.
