Hello searchers,

I have 'Statutory Birth' for
Jeannie Christen (Christian) LYON
the illegitimate daughter of
Violet LYON, born 9 June 1906

The address for the birth is shown as
73 Summer Street, St Mackar,  Burg of Aberdeen.

I would be grateful to know, if possible, who was at
home at this address for the census in 1901.

At a guess Violet was probably a very young woman.
Her employment is shown on the document
as an envelope worker.

Any additional valuable information from those with
local knowledge of this area of the City would be
much appreciated too.

Would welcome ideas on the following.

In Registrations I have found illegitimate Violet (CHIVAS) LYONS Dundee October 1887 daughter of Jennie/Jeannie - could this Violet be one and the same adopted daughter in the 1891 census?

Hello again Jean,

I would definitely say it's the same person. I'm just theorising here, but it may be that Margaret took Violet as her own child, rather than her being brought up as Jeanie's. Another possible is Ancestry have made a mistake in their transcription of the original image and it should be granddaughter? You may want to have a check of the original on ScotlandsPeople. Smiley

Many thanks for your thoughts, it is always wise to check details from at least two
documents.  The transcriptions  of entries can be easily scrambled - must be an
heroic effort needed to work through such documents. 
I'm pinning them down!
