Hi all
Has anyone anyway of finding a marriage, most likely in Romsey c1753?
I am looking for George DOLING who married an Alice. Their first child (that i am aware of) was born Romsey 1754, also named George. He had the middle name 'Weeks' so that may very well be the mothers maiden name.

I've checked my Phillimore's but not much there I'm afraid. I looked at the IGI (at familysearch.org) and only found the following
Elizabeth Doling b. 06/05/1767, Romsey
George Weeks Dowling b. 15/03/1754 Romsey
Edward Doling b. 23/06/1757 Romsey
John Doling b. 27/05/1760 Romsey
Sarah Doling b. 26/05/1766 Romsey
Thomas Doling b. 16.06.1763 Romsey
The only George I could find in Hampshire apart from the above was a George Dowling b. 1732 Upper Clatford, Hants and also another George b. 20/08/1719 son of George and Ann Dowling, of Goodworth Clatford. Upper Clatford is only approx. 16 miles from Romsey so this may be an area worth looking at. Unfortunately marriage regs for Upper Clatford only start from 1755 on IGI.

Ok Steph, Thanks all the same. I had trawled through the IGI and found the Clatford one, though i guess the only way to be sure is to find a marriage. Its looking like another one to add to a records office lookup!
