« on: Friday 10 August 07 08:40 BST (UK) »

Trying to track down information on Elizabeth McQUE ms WILSON parents John WILSON & Janet HUSBAND Huh born 1846 Bonnyrigg? Stirlingshire.  I am interested in finding out about her siblings and parents as I am trying to make a connection with other Stirlingshire WILSONs I have in my tree. Grin

Hi Wildgoose,

Bonnyrigg is in Midlothian.

Bonnybridge (known to the locals as Bonnybrigg) is in Stirlingshire.

I am also looking for a John Wilson (Bonnyrigg???)  I am having a wildgoosechase about this one.  My grandad  James Wilson (born around 1972) had a father John Wilson and my dad talked about Bonnyrigg - could we be looking for the same one?
Any info would be appreciated.

Wildgoose ... I'm only reading this thread and am getting confused ... in one post you're looking for Stirlingshire Wilsons and in your next post it's Midlothian Wilsons.

Hi Hazelnuts

1972 Huh Surely you mean 1872 Cool It's difficult to say if you are looking for the same one at this stage. Were your Wilsons in Stirlingshire or Midlothian? If that can be sorted then it's possible that you are looking for the same family although I reckon Wilson may be a common enough name.

Hi Wildgoose -

Avonbridge village lies on the river Avon - one side is stirlingshire - one side is west lothian (if I confused you - I'm sorry!)  Have searched West Lothian and now branched to Mid Lothian - gotta keep looking - this search is about 5 years old now - and it is only my Grandfather I'm looking for!!!
Bonnyrigg was talked about when I was a wee wee girl - grasping straws - don't we all?
