Hi,
I would appreciate any help finding the following marriage:
Benjamin Laye and Hannah. abt 1773 - 1781
I have a Benjamin Laye born in Fyfield, Oxon/Berkshire - (between Tubney and Longworth) in 1755. In 1781 his first son Benjamin is baptised in Didcot parish Church. They go on to have eleven more children baptised in Didcot.
The marriage is not on the Oxfordshire Index.

Hi,
This may not be relevant but I have just found a marriage for;
Benjamine LAY of Grove to Elizabeth LEECH from Densworth on 25th Oct 1733
in the registers of Besselsleigh. A parish next to Tubney.
This may be the parents of the Benjamin Laye you are looking for.

Hi,
I am after any links that I can find. Do you think the Densworth could be Denchworth?
My Benjamin Laye who was born in Fyfield - was buried soon afterwards. So I am also looking for his birth again as well.

Hi,
I am getting confused as well! I posted the first one a little while ago and had forgotten about it!
I am now looking for the baptism and marriage for Benjamin Laye. He was living in Didcot and married to Hannah from 1781.
But his baptism is not in Didcot.
I was reliably informed that it was in Fyfield - until I purchased Fyfield PR Cd recently and found the following:
Birth: Benjamin Laye 1755.02.23 S of Richard and Alice
Burial: Benjamin Laye 1766.05.28
Now it does not say that he is the son of Richard - but their are no other Benjamin Laye's in either the marriages or the baptism in Fyfield - so I am assuming it is the same one.
Sorry to be so confusing.

Hi Newburychap,
That is interesting to know about Besselsleigh, as Denchworth and Grove are quite close together. But they are close to the road linking Oxford and Wantage.

The MIS do not have Benjamin but that may be because it is an early grave that we could not read.
