:)Hello from Brisbane, Australia.
is my greatgreatgrandfather paternally speaking. From the census of 1851 he is married to Sarah (nee Watkins, from Wales) and they are living with their 4 children initially in Weeley, then in St Osyth, Essex.
| Robert, born circa 1801, Arleligh, Essex | was a widower when he married Sarah in 1844 as per a marriage certificate i have for such a couple. This marriage took place at St Brides, London on February 19.
| Robert appears to have died between 1855 | (youngest child Jane born in Oct 1855) (1st quarter of year); Sarah on that census is describeds as a "widow".
Anyone know of these people? Kind regards, Julie Kemp

Hello Suz
Thanks for that!
I do have a Robert Green's death certificate but it doesn't have anything personal on it to convince me it is my Robert Green! How difficult can one get! Also the age on the cert is messed up and crossed out and then the figure looks like 70 years of age. I don't think that Robert was quite that old : if he was born c1801 in Ardleigh, Essex, then dies in 1858?!
It says he died in Union House, Tendring. Was that a hospital? Had his young wife tossed him out?!
Kind regards, Julie

Hello Kath
Yes i guess that's fair comment. I'll look into the 1852 death of Robert Green. I was afraid it would be the workhouse!
Regards, Julie

Thanks Malcolm.
I had been at that site months ago and it was good to get back there but unfortunately i found little, except for a Robert Green listed as one of 3 Greens who owned property in the area.
I'll have to go to the Essex archives, which i didn't like - i find it a difficult site to navigate!
Kind regards, Julie
