My Grandma Ella Williams 1916

Is anyone going to the Tavistock Records Office who could look up a couple of marriages for me? I want to check the parents of two couples, but as they are not in my direct line I'd prefer not to have to order the certificates if I can get away with it. 
1. William Spurrell married Sophia Atwill Head in Whitchurch 7 Feb 1843 (Mar Q 1843 Tavistock vol 9 493) - fathers names please? I have William's parents as Thomas Spurrell, farmer and Sarah Willcocks. However another Spurrell connection has his parents as John Spurrell, shoemaker and Patience Westington (my 4G grandparents).
2. William Gent married Mary Emma Spurrell Sept Q 1859 Tavistock 5b 633. Names of fathers and witnesses please? I believe William may be the son of John Gent and Philippa Spurrell and Mary Emma is his first or second cousin.

Hi
It is only possible to do such a lookup if you know which actual church they married in. The references you have quoted are the GRO references used when ordering a copy cert online.

Being a long way from any records office I wasn't sure whether the index could be used to look up the details as well. I'll have to try something else.

raa found them in the Plymouth records office anyway!  
Looks like I was wrong  William was the son of John Spurrell, shoemaker so his daughter Mary Emma appears to have married her 1st cousin William Gent.
