Hello Clive,

I hope you didn't go to too much trouble to find that information.

Unfortunately though, it seems from what you say, that this is not my direct line of Breckons. My Hannah's father was Thomas a butcher, not Robert a solicitor. Pity! I did see a reference to this Robert in the 1840 Whitby directory for trades and professions, and there are only a couple of other Breckons listed, so chances are they're all related somehow, so having that information would still be of interest if you don't mind sending it. Excuse my ignorance, but what's a "PM of my address" and also a "PR"? I'm new at this! I did find it really interesting that you say you found a record of a Breckon going back to 1643.

Thanks so much for your very kind offer to photograph Westleigh, but it's not really relevant to my research. I'm glad Whitby is so sunny - it must be beautiful. Melbourne is freezing at the moment!

Anyway, thanks so much for your trouble.

Cheers,

Nikki.

Hi, Nikki, A PM is a private message. PR parish register, It was no trouble at all only to pleased to assist whenever possible. Roots chat is a wonderful site,The PR I was viewing was Ramsgate ,Kent, It would be easy if my family came from this area of Yorkshire, but I suppose you and others in OZ or elsewhere have it harder. if I can assist in any way I would if I can be only be to pleased. Best Wishes Clive
