If anyone is planning a future trip to the Devon Record Office in the New Year, I wonder if I could request a marriage lookup in the period stated above?
I'm looking for the marriage of Captain James Bayley to Elizabeth Franklin. James was from Cheshire & Elizabeth was born in Plymouth. They spent the early part of their married life in Rumleigh in Bere Ferrers parish & moved back to Cheshire in the early 1830s.
Jayson, someone has submitted this entry on the IGI....James Bayley Marriage to Elizabeth Franklin 1812 in Willistone Cheshire.....(his mother Penelope Salmon)..

Oh how this incorrect IGI entry plagues me! I guess this is just another of its idiosyncrasies? It amuses me that they say the marriage took place in Willistone (which should really be Willaston - the IGI can't even get the spelling right! Or perhaps I should say the person who originally submitted the info couldn't?) when in fact Willaston isn't even a parish but a township in the parishes of Wybunbury & Nantwich, which incidentally I have searched, along with many other Cheshire parishes - nearly all - but without success.
