Gadget -  I assume William Martin ? was the first husband of Jane Bryden. I recall my Aunt Jessie (D. Kerr) saying that William Kerr was an outsider and that the family was Douglas so I assume this link was maintained after the death of Jane Bryden's first husband. Aunt J was also related to Hannah C Dick born in Edinburgh, 1870 who I met when a child. In the census of 1901 she lived in Edinburgh with an old couple called Douglas.  The date of the death of William Martin? and the marriage to William Kerr would be an enormous help.

I don't think she was married to a Martin.

This is an extract from the marriage certificate of April 2 1892 between Jane Bryden and William Kerr. I have included their names and their parents' names.

I'll see if I can find a birth for William Kerr circa 1854 but I'm rather busy, so if anyone else has time to look, I'd be grateful.

From her death certificate, Jane Kerr (nee Bryden) appears to have married only once. This was in 1892 which I have already given details for.

She died 9th April 1932 at 122 Kirkton Avenue, Glasgow (Scotstoun and Yoker), aged 65.

She was married to William Martin Kerr, Paper Mill Enginekeeper. Her mother is again given as Jane Bryden, housekeeper, deceased. R. B Ker(r) (son Robert) was the informant.

Hope this clarifies things for you.

Regards
